With more than 35 years in accounting and over 25 years in financial planning, Bill Kriesel continues to serve the Syracuse community and beyond as the Managing Member of Diversified Capital Management, a respected investment advisory firm. Through his deep expertise and client-focused approach, Bill delivers comprehensive financial planning services, including estate and retirement planning, insurance and investment strategy, education planning, and business advisory services.
Bill holds prestigious designations as a Certified Public Accountant / Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS), Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), and Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®). His commitment to holistic planning allows him to tailor personalized strategies that address both financial goals and meaningful legacies.
Bill regularly consults with clients to explore charitable giving as part of their broader estate plans. “When we discuss estate planning, I always ask about charitable desires,” he says. “Some clients have already given it thought, while others are pleasantly surprised by the question and open to exploring the possibilities.”
He often guides clients through charitable strategies, including charitable trusts and annuities, as well as donor advised funds (DAFs), which offer flexibility and tax efficiency. “For those making substantial annual gifts, a DAF is an excellent vehicle, especially given the increased standard deduction,” Bill notes. “In my experience, the Community Foundation is a fantastic partner for clients interested in this approach. Beyond his professional work, Bill is deeply involved in the Central New York community. He is a past president of the Estate Planning Council of CNY and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs. His civic leadership has included board leadership roles with organizations such as Literacy CNY, Syracuse Opera Company, and Home Aides of CNY.
Bill’s dedication to serving clients with integrity, depth, and compassion makes him a trusted advisor and a valued contributor to the community.
